Tim & Kathleen O’Toole

Jim McGuinness Award Honorees

For over 40 years, Tim and Kathleen O'Toole have been deeply involved in the Oklahoma City recovery community, sharing their journey, strength, and hope with individuals and families facing addiction. Their own experiences in recovery have not only shaped their lives but have also fueled their passion for helping others find healing and support. They know firsthand how life-changing counseling and therapy can be, having benefited from the services at A Chance to Change themselves. During the early years of blending their family, professional support played a key role in helping them build a strong foundation.

Tim has spent decades leading major events and sports organizations, leaving a lasting impact along the way. He was the Director of Operations for the 1989 Olympic Festival and later served as Chief Operating Officer for USA Softball during their gold medal run at the 1996 Atlanta Olympics. As President and General Manager of the Oklahoma RedHawks, he played a key role in building and opening the Bricktown Ballpark. He went on to lead the Oklahoma State Fair and OKC Fairgrounds as President and CEO, overseeing a massive $200 million renovation that turned the facility into a top-tier event destination.

Kathleen brings a diverse background as an educator, administrator, corporate trainer, and project manager. She earned her teaching degree from the University of Central Oklahoma; a master’s in management and human resources from Southern Nazarene University and has pursued doctoral studies in Instructional Leadership and Academic Learning at the University of Oklahoma. Beyond her professional work, she is deeply committed to community service, holding leadership roles with the Oklahoma City Junior League, the Retired Senior Volunteer Program (RSVP), and Toastmasters International. She has also volunteered as a venue manager for the tennis competition at the 1989 Olympic Festival and served as a lead volunteer for the NCAA YES Clinics at the Women’s College World Series.

Tim and Kathleen’s unwavering dedication to recovery and community service has left a lasting impact. Their journey is a testament to resilience, generosity, and a deep commitment to helping others find hope and healing.
