Philosophy of Treatment

A Chance to Change Foundation operates its addiction treatment, prevention, and education programs with the understanding that chemical dependency is a chronic disease that can be treated.  We believe that the family is also affected and often best results come from working with the entire family.  We understand that substance abuse recovery requires ongoing support, and the agency refers to support groups such as Alcoholics Anonymous, Al-Anon, and others.

For more information on alcoholism and addiction, please see the Facts about alcoholism and addiction page.

A Chance to Change counselors can consult with your doctor or other referral source according to your wishes. We provide complete assessments and will offer each client recommendations for the best sources of help for their individual needs. If the client has needs we cannot meet, we will help them find the right level of treatment. We strictly follow all laws and ethical standards for client confidentiality.
